The Chicago XC60 is not only a customer favorite, but has also wowed the International Car of the Year (ICOTY) jury. They have chosen this awesome crossover as International Truck of the Year. It was chosen over 10 other crossovers, SUV’s and trucks by a group of very distinguished auto journalists. The decision was based on the positive way Volvo connects the car to the buyer’s lifestyle! Sneak Peak at 2011 S60 Sedan
The Chicago S60 will be revamped for the 2011 car year. Volvo is planning to sell this sedan in showrooms starting late Summer 2010.
The pictures that have been released show a beautiful interior and exterior. Even though it will come in a variety of colors, I love the rust/orange shade I have seen online. The design is very modern and sleek looking. The interior of the Chicago new Volvo looks nice as well, with blue and red hues for the gauge lighting and roomy, comfortable looking seats. Blind Turkish Artist meets 2011 Volvo S60
Turkish artist Esref Armagon isn’t like every other artist. Although he creates gorgeous masterpieces and has perfected self-expression, there’s a barrier between him and his visuals that most artists don’t have: the absence of sight.
In this video, he meets the all-new 2011 Volvo S60 and by touch, creates a vision of the shape, size and design of the automobile. Depicted is his experience in creating his Volvo masterpiece.
With a planned debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010, the Chicago new Volvo S60 brings an all- new, unique element of driving. Known for having essentially the safest lineup of automobiles, Volvo has now upped the ante in its 2011 model. The new vehicles will feature a Collision Warning system with pedestrian detection and full auto-brake (in case the driver were not to stop for any reason). This innovative feature is the first of its kind in the automotive world. With this technology, Volvo specialists hinted that they have hopes in developing a system that makes it nearly impossible for vehicles to crash- at some point down the road.
Until then, stop in your local Chicago Volvo dealership, Patrick Volvo, and test-drive any members of the 2010 lineup. Whether looking for a new or used Volvo Chicago, you’re sure to find your perfect match amongst the great selection Patrick has to offer. We’ll be here, waiting to serve you!

Active Safety System Will Be Available on Next S60
Looks like modern technology will make a major play in your 2010 Chicago S60. Volvo is teaming up with Delphi to create an Active Safety System. What this will do is allow the car to digitally detect pedestrians in the street that may come into contact with the car and it applies the brakes. It seems like a pretty cool system, but one flaw is that the system only detects people larger than 80 centimeters. So, if a Volvo Chicago is approaching a nanny walking a baby in a stroller, it might miss the baby since it’s smaller. The reason behind this is that the system is formulated on algorithms that don’t compute well for small humans. This is one kink that will have to be modified to be a great safety system. But the advances being made thanks to technology in auto safety are amazing, and Volvo is at the top of the list in caplitalizing on those technologies. Continue Reading…
C30 Battery Electric Vehicle
Volvo is taking a great car and making it new and improved. They are taking the Volvo C30 to see if it can effectively run on battery power only. The reason they have chosen this particular model is due to its low weight and usefullness for driving in the city. Since most electric cars would be used by people driving locally, this makes sense.
How exactly would a battery powered only Volvo Chicago work? First of all, electric cars are predicted to become more and more popular due to rising gas prices and stricter regulations on the amount of CO2 that can come from a car, not to mention huge gains in battery technology. The motor of an EV would be under the hood, as a normal engine is. However, as engineers work on this type of car, they will be searching for the optimal place to put the engine. Continue Reading…
